Community Contribution
People often ask what Skugga does for CSR. Our answer: we are not a business that does community projects. We are a community project that does business.

Everything we build in Ban Sahakorn is meant to leave the community stronger: more income for local farmers and businesses, more opportunity for local children, local jobs and skills, and knowledge shared openly. We focus on what only Skugga can give: our facilities, our know-how, our nursery, our purchasing power and our jobs.
Local farmers, producers and businesses
Local first: we buy from our own farm first, then Ban Sahakorn, then Mae On, and go further only when we must. Tea, coffee, cacao, lemons, pepper, milk, pork, eggs and vegetables are among the produce we already buy from the Sahakorn area.
Not just food: building materials, water pumps, farm tools, fuel and services such as laundry come from Sahakorn businesses too. Over the years this local spending has run to tens of millions of baht.
Cacao for local farmers: we raise cacao seedlings in our own nursery and give them to Ban Sahakorn farmers, with training and guidance on growing them.
Dairy farm visits: we bring learners to nearby dairy farms and pay the farmer for every visitor, to help support Mae On's dairy community.
Feed for local cattle: grass cut on our farm goes to local dairy and beef farmers.
Business advice for neighbors: we share what we have learned about branding, packaging, pricing and selling with local producers who ask.
Village crafts: our farm gift shop is expanding to sell handicrafts from Sahakorn villages.
Schools and young people
Local school children join our workshops free of charge. International schools visit at a reduced rate that covers materials. More than a third of the 7,000+ learners who have joined us since 2024 are children.
Villages and residents
Local jobs: we hire from Ban Sahakorn first, then Mae On. Around 60% of our team lives in Mae On, half of them in Ban Sahakorn. No experience is needed: we train people in chocolate, coffee, baking, ice cream, cheese and cold cuts, and those skills stay in the village.
Free learning: Ban Sahakorn residents join our workshops free of charge.
Talk to us: residents, schools and village leaders can reach us on 062-694-2811 or at learn@skuggalife.com.
Knowledge for everyone
We share our methods and data openly, including with farmers who may one day compete with us. Our handbooks are written in English and Thai. Universities and schools visit to see the work, and we go to them too, to talk about farming as a business.
